Cycling injuries

In order to properly treat injuries in cycling, it is very important to know what causes the injury. Is it the rider himself or is the cause of the bike (position), or is the training wrong? In order to gain a better understanding of the injuries, all facets must be looked at.

Sesamoiditis

Two pea-shaped bones, called the sesamoid bones, lie under the ball of the big toe. Even though they are very small, they play an important role in walking. If the sesamoid bones become damaged/irritated, they can cause a lot of pain and discomfort.

Morbus Sever

Morbus Sever is the name for heel pain in children. It is a common, but often undiagnosed, cause of heel pain in children who play sports. Morbus Sever is often seen in boys between the ages of seven and fifteen and in girls between the ages of five and thirteen. Pain complaints usually arise shortly after the start of the new sports season.
